Copyist work.

This was a commission to copy a water colour cartoon/design for a series of enamelled glass miniature windows at Fonthill Abbey (circa 1790's).
It was designed by William Hamilton RA (1750-1801), and is held in the Victoria and Albert Museum print archive.
It shows Sir Hugh Morville, one of the knights involved in the martyrdom of St. Thomas a Beckett.

The original is watercolour, 11 x 36 cms.
