This was a commission from the author, Lawrence Norfolk,
to decorate his wardrobe doors.

This is a mirror image of the original: "Bacchus and Ariadne" by Titian, on display in the National Gallery, London.
It was reversed so that the lighting in the picture made better sense considering the direction of light entering the windows to the right of the wardrobes. Some of the figures were also rearranged to make a better suited composition. Also it is about 1/3 larger than the original.
It is possible some of you may have seen me sketching away in the National Gallery!


This was shown in February 1999's issue of "Home Flair" magazine.

The medium is acrylics on canvas.
